HotSQL 1.0 - Package Notes
--------------------------

HotSQL is a SHAREWARE program that lets users access ODBC databases
from Windows NT and 95 web servers. It is a server-side gateway that
can process SQL queries, updates and deletes to any ODBC compatible
database. Users simply embed SQL queries in standard HTML documents,
along with special HotSQL macros. The software can extract data from
HTML forms for use in database inserts, queries, etc. It can also
generate dynamic HTML output for custom reporting and other applications.
Ideal for company intranets. Works with all popular Windows NT and 95
web servers, and with all ODBC capable database systems.

Installation
============
HotSQL is distributed in a single ZIP file. This archive contains the following files:

     HOTSQL.EXE - the HotSQL engine
     HSDOC.HTM - this documentation file in HTML format
     REGISTER.TXT - information about registering HotSQL

HotSQL requires a Windows NT or 95 compatible Web server. These include such
products as Microsoft IIS, Netscape Communications and Commerce Servers and
O'Reilly WebSite. Any Web server that supports the Common Gateway Interface
should be OK.

To install the HotSQL engine, simply copy the HOTSQL.EXE file into your Web
server's cgi-bin directory. See your web server's documentation for more about this
directory and how to configure it.

That's it! You are ready to start using HotSQL.

The user manual is in HTML format in the file HSDOC.HTM.

Distribution
============
HotSQL may be freely distributed with the following conditions:

1. All files in the ZIP file should be included in distributions
2. The software must be identified as SHAREWARE in any distribution
