Release-notes
=============

Last-minute information about bugs, changes etc.. Updates at
<http://www.beonex.com/communicator/version/0.6/release-notes>.

  Important

Information *every* user should read.

    All platforms

    * Proxies

      Automatic proxy configuration does not work

    Windows

    * Conflicting default preferences

      Problem: If a default setting between Beonex and e.g. Netscape 6
      differs, and you happened to change the setting (=preference), it
      might be reset to its default value in Beonex and Netscape 6.

      Reason: Beonex currently shares the folder, where profiles (the
      user-specific data like preferences, bookmarks, emails etc.) are
      stored, with Netscape 6 and Mozilla.

      Workaround: Create a new profile for Beonex only.

    * Uninstall

      Problem: The Uninstaller does not work.

      Workaround: Manually delete Beonex: Delete the installation
      directory of Beonex and (if you don't want to keep Netscape 6 or
      Mozilla profiles) |mozregistry.dat| and |mozver.dat| in your
      Windows folder (e.g. |c:\windows|) and the Mozilla profiles
      directory (|Mozilla| in your Windows profile or in the Windows
      folder).

    Unix / Windows NT/2000

    * Multi-user installations

      Problem: If Beonex is installed by root in a directory that only
      root can write to and then ran as normal user, it might refuse to
      start up.

      Reason: Beonex currently tries to write into its installation dir.

      Workaround: Install one copy of Beonex for each user, in a
      directory the user can write to.

  Other

    Beonex

<http://www.beonex.com/communicator/version/0.6/release-notes/other.html>

    Netscape 6

Almost everything from the Netscape 6 release notes
<http://home.netscape.com/eng/mozilla/ns6/relnotes/6.0.html> also
applies to Beonex.
