PC Hold was designed as a computer-based Music-on-Hold/Announcement-on-Hold software package. It has some special features for this that ordinary "sound" players don't and provides for a "professional" M-O-H environment. Unfortunately, it only works with SoundBlasters and compatibles.
PC Hold is pretty easy to set up if you have ever worked with MIDI players. If not, start Windows Explorer, enter the PCHold folder and 2-click "PCHold.exe" (if you RIGHT-CLICK on this file and DRAG it to the desktop, you can create a shortcut for it there). This will start PC Hold. Then, with PC Hold running, go back to Windows Explorer and enter the HELP subfolder under the PCHold folder; 2-click on the file named "default.htm". This will start the HELP file in your browser and allow you to set up PC Hold by going step-by-step through the HELP pages.
A test playlist has been included to get everybody going "legally". The MIDI file is an original by our friend Don McMillen, who has provided it with a license for use with PC Hold.
