Description         :
PReP is a powerful yet easy-to-use tool which makes the development,
handling and organisation - even database access very easy. It is
platform independent since it is implemented in Java (JDK 1.2). This
makes it very easy and usable without any previous knowledge of some
complicated programming language such as Perl or C - not even Java.
PReP runs as a Servlet or commandline version. With that it is possible
to generate dynamic OR static sites. It opens connections to any jdbc
database and makes the use of the DBMS very easy. PReP has a lot of
already predefined tags, such as conditional tags (IF, IFDEF,
BOOLEAN...etc.), list tags, file tags (like a file parser or a file
reader), even an executable tag (creates a batch file), calculation and
date tags, DBMS tags, an image tag (gets automatically the original
heigth and width of the image) and a lot more! You can include as many
PReP files as you want to your site. It is especially easy to write
additional functionality to PReP or to add more tags.

The main advantage of PReP is its functionality and the easy handling.
It is no longer a problem to organize your sites, to update the design
or to keep your sites up-to-date! PReP lets you change a detail without
changing all of your sites - imagine for example the advantages if you
want your sites in more than one language! Just separate the design
from the text - PReP will do it all!

If you need any examples of sites which are made with PReP, just have a
look at <A HREF="http://www.delec.com">www.delec.com</A>, <A
HREF="http://www.delec.ch">www.delec.ch</A> or download a documentation
how to make an automatically generated table documentation with PReP <A
HREF="http://www.delec.com/download">www.delec.com/download</A>),
included is an example table documentation, how it could look. If you
change something in your database, you won't longer have to change all
of your sites - just insert the description of the new table, or field
of a table - or remove the old one and compile it! If you run the
servlet version - you don't even have to compile it!
