Dave and Fanny are discussing how they will vote on the Faculty Award:

Dave: "So, how are you planning to vote on the Faculty Award?"
Fanny: "Well, Joan has been doing a great job teaching. Four of her students went on to graduate school and they are all doing well. She puts a lot of hard work into her advising. You know, every student she has advised has graduated in four years or less."
Dave: "Well, do you remember when we put in that grant to travel to that ski resort for a conference?"
Fanny: "Sure. I was really looking forward to skiing."
Dave: "Then, surely you remember that we didn't get to go... we didn't get to go because Joan insisted that we use the money to buy those computers for the student lab. Because of her, we had to miss that conference."
Fanny: "And all that skiing."
Dave: "Exactly. "
Fanny: "You know, now that I've thought about it, I don't think Joan deserves that award. After all, if she can't work with the rest of us, she can't be a great faculty member."Appeal to FearTwo Wrongs Make a RightAppeal to SpiteThe BandwagonAppeal to Fear: This is a wrong answer. Dave is not attempting to evoke fear in the hopes that this will induce support for a claim. Two Wrongs Make a Right: This is a wrong answer. Neither Dave nor Fanny is trying to justify an action by claiming that someone else would do the same thing to either of them.Appeal to Spite: This is the right answer. Dave is trying to generate spite in Fanny in the hopes that she will change her mind about voting for Joan. The Bandwagon: This is a wrong answer.
