(A) Product Overview
------------------------------------------------------------------
Event Master with Notes is an event reminder, calendar, notebook and
alarm clock all rolled into one. You can also think of it as a convenient
location in which to store and retrieve information - information that is
tailored to your specific needs because you decide what type of
information to store in its database. The information might include
schedules, agendas, cheat sheets, recipes, telephone numbers, birthday
or other holiday reminders just to mention a few. The choice is yours.

(B) Legal Agreement
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Event Master (R) is a copyrighted software product developed by
"Solutions by REC". IT IS not Public Domain or Freeware.

It is distributed and licensed "AS IS", without warranties as to
performance or merchantability or any other warranties whether
expressed or implied. Because of the various hardware platforms
in existence today, in which Event Master may be placed, no warranty
of fitness for a particular purpose is offered. Any liability of
the seller will be limited exclusively to product replacement or
refund of the purchase price.

You agree that neither Solutions by REC nor any officers, directors,
employees, shareholders, owners, or other related parties will be
liable to you or any third party for an use of (or inability to use)
or performance of this product, or for any damages whatsoever whether
based on contract, tort, or otherwise, even if we are notified of
such possibility in advance. Some states do not allow the exclusion
or limitation of incidental or consequential damages. Therefore,
the foregoing limitation may not apply to you.

(C) Shareware & Distribution
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Event Master is Shareware. It is not Public Domain or Freeware. For those
of you not familiar with the Shareware concept, its chief purpose is to give
the user a chance to try the software before buying it. Of course this
requires that the user be presented with a FULL FUNCTIONING COPY of the
software, to insure that a realistic evaluation of its usefulness can be made.
Unfortunately, this puts the software author at great risk of not receiving
any compensation for his or her efforts. Shareware authors therefore rely
heavily on the integrity of their users, to buy (register) their software by
remitting the purchase price if they like the software and intend to continue
using after an evaluation is made.

Solutions by REC believes in the Shareware approach. It saves packaging,
advertising and distribution costs - expenses that would otherwise be
passed onto consumers. This is why "Solutions by REC" requests a nominal
registration fee of only $20.00. Should you find Event Master useful and
decide to use it on an ongoing basis, we hope that you too will take the
time to register Event Master.

To register Event Master, you must type a valid serial number and password
into its Register dialog box (see section G below for details on how to
obtain a valid serial number and password). Once registered, your name
and serial number will appear in the application's About dialog box
indicating that it is registered to you.

Unregistered copies of Event Master may be freely distributed as long as
they are distributed in their orginal form (the unregistered self-extracting
EXE install program). Once registered, however, they are licensed to an
individual and can no longer be freely distributed. Doing so would be a
violation of copyright laws.

(D) Install Event Master
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Event Master is distributed as a self-extracting EXE install program named
evmst22.exe. To install it, Choose the Run command from Windows Program Manager's
menu in Windows 3.1 or the Start menu in Windows 95/98/NT/ME & 2000. Type in
the full path name of the install program into the command line. For example,
if the file is located in the TEMP directory of your C: drive you would type
"C:\temp\evmst22.exe" in the command line.

Once invoked the install program will ask you for a directory name in which to
install Event Master. It will also provide a default directory name which can
be used. If you choose to change the default directory name to something else
we strongly recommend using a directory name which includes the "Evmst22" string
as parts of its name. This helps keep it separate from any prior or future
releases of the product as well as providing a descriptive title. Floppy and
Network drives will not be accepted.

If an older version of Event Master is already installed on your machine, the
installation process locates it and copies its database to your new directory.
Once Event Master is invoked it will automatically convert the database to the
new format used by the new release of Event Master. Once this release of Event
Master is installed and you've verified that your old data has been converted
properly (i.e. the new release of Event Master is displaying your old data properly),
you can delete the old version and its directory assuming your new directory name
is different from the old directory name.

If the current version of Event Master is already installed on your machine and
you are simply reinstalling it or a 2.2 copy with fixes applied, use the existing
directory name of the installed copy. This install process will overlay all of
the required modules it that directory. Your data base is never overlaid and
will still be available for immediate use following this installation.

After the files have been copied to the directory you chose, you will be prompted
to supply a Program Manager Folder Name in which to place Event Master. If you
are a user of Windows 95 or above, this is one of folders displayed when select
the Programs menu from the Start button. You are provided with a default Folder
name, we suggest using it.

On the same dialog you are also given the opportunity to specify if Event Master
will automatically launch itself immediately following boot up of your Windows
operating system (PC boot up). Automatically launching Event Master immediately
following your PC's boot up will insure that important dates (events) never
go unnoticed.

If you replace your old PC with a new one (or replace your PC's hard drive), you
will have to install Event Master on the new hard drive (or PC) if wish to
continue using it. Simply use the original install program and registration
acceptance form. Once installed, replace the event.dat file in Event Master's
sub directory with a copy of your old event.dat file. If your unsure of the
sub directory name, you can display it by invoking the About Event Master dialog
from the Help menu.

(E) Auto starting Event Master
-------------------------------------------------------------------
In order the gain the full advantage of Event Master, we strongly recommend invoking
it as part of the Windows start up procedure. This will insure that you see the
list of up coming events when ever you start your PC - hopefully daily.

When you run the Event Master install program you are given the opportunity to
specify whether or not to autostart Event Master by select a checkbox in the
Program Folder prompt dialog.

If you have previously installed Event Master without selecting the autoStart option
and later you decide you would like to start using the autoStart option, you can
run the install program again, this time selecting the autoStart checkbox on
the Program Folder prompt dialog. You can reinstall Event Master in the same
directory as the old copy of the program. Even though most modules will be replaced
with newer copies, your database and registration will remain intact so you shouldn't
loose anything. Of course its always a good idea to backup the existing Event Master
database (event.dat) to a removable storage device (i.e. floppy) before you begin
reinstalling the product. An ounce of precaution is worth a bound of cure. If don't
know where to find the database, Select the "About Event Master" option from the Help
menu. It will display, among other things, the full path name in which Event Master
is installed. The database (event.dat) will also be found there.

When the autoStart option is chosen, the install program simply places a reference
(a.k.a. a short cut ) to Event Master (evmst.exe) in the Startup Folder - a folder
provided by the Windows operating system. By adding or deleting the reference to
Event Master in the Startup Folder you choose whether or not Event Master is
automatically started upon Windows invocation (PC bootup). If you know how to
add and remove references (a.k.a. short cuts) to folders you can do so yourself so
you won't have to rerun the install program to turn the autoStart option on or off.

(F) Uninstalling (Removing) Event Master.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Uninstalling Event Master is as simple as selecting the Uninstall option
from the Options Menu and typing the word REMOVE in the text field provided.

Do NOT uninstall Event Master if your going to install a newer release of
Event Master. The install process searches the old version for your data and
registration so that both may be used with the new release of the product.
If you uninstall the old release of Event Master the new install process
won't be able to find and use your registration and database.
