You can view this manual (see file name above) from any text editors or 
word processors. It is located in the folder you installed.

It is recommended that you run the program and read the instructions
on an editor from another window. 

WINDOWS
=======
    If you run the program using Windows 3.x/95/98, press ALT-ENTER 
combination to change from full screen to resizable windows or vice versa.
Note that while in full screen mode, the mouse cursor is a rectangular block.

Short cut keys
==============
    Short cut keys for power users are displayed below the buttons.

                            DATA ENTRY

Insert/overtype mode                                  
====================
    Press INSERT key to switch between insert or overtype mode during data
entry. The insert mode is indicated by a rectangular block shape of the 
blinking cursor while overtype mode is a small underscore.

Books
=====
    From the MAIN MENU, go to FILE, choose BOOKS. A list of previous 
entries are shown (if any). 

To ADD a new title:
    Click "Add" button or press F3. A data entry screen appears. The only 
compulsory entry is the book title. Authors, Topics and Publishers must be 
picked from a list. Click on <List> or press ENTER to see the LIST popup.
Choose desired record and click "Apply" or press ENTER. To undo, press F5.
To add record to the list from the popup, click "Add" or press F3. To edit
or delete the data, you must exit BOOKS option and choose AUTHORS, TOPICS 
or PUBLISHERS from the MAIN MENU. Any record update will be reflected 
automatically in the BOOKS database.
    Click "Save" or press F9 to save your BOOKS record. To abort, click
"< Back" or press ESC key.

To EDIT current record:
    Click "Edit" button or press F4. A data entry screen to edit appears.
After editing, click "Save" or press F9 to save.  To abort, click "< Back"
or press ESC key.

To DELETE current record:
    Click "Delete" button or press F5.

To sort your records.
---------------------
    Columns that can be sorted is indicated by angle brackets (< >) on the 
    column heading. The sorted column is indicated by double angle brackets
    ( ). The following can be sorted in alphabetical order:

    * Title
    * Author
    * Topic 
    * Index
    * Rack
    * Publisher
    * Remark

    To sort any of the above, click on the desired data heading or press 
LEFT/RIGHT ARROWS until the highlight is on the desired column then click 
"Sort" or press F2. The database records is now sorted according to the 
chosen column. The name of the sorted column will be displayed in bracket 
at the top of the screen. To search for any data on the sorted column, just
press the first few letters. The nearest hit will be displayed immediately.
The database sorting will remain even if you move the highlight away from 
the column and it is scrolled off screen. 

Query
-----
    You can query the database on the following criteria:
    * Title range
    * Author 
    * Topic 
    * Index
    * Rack
    * Publisher 
    * Remark

    Click on "Query" button or press F6 to view the query form. 
    Title range:
    The program will list all books that match the range specified in the
    query form. For example, to list all books with the title beginning
    with the word "The", key in the following:
    Title (from)  : The
    Title (to)    : Thez

    Authors, Topics, Publishers:
    All the above must be picked from current list.

    Index and Rack:
    Exact name required.

    Remarks:
    Key in any word that match the sentence in remark. 
    Eg. If the word "in" is specified, records containing the word "into"
    or "king" is also a match.

                            BACKUP/RESTORE

Backup
======
From the MAIN MENU, go to UTILITY, and choose BACKUP. Insert formatted disk
in disk drive. Enter the drive letter, click "Begin" or press F9. A safety
warning will appear. Click "Yes" or press "Y" to proceed. Follow on screen 
instructions. When backup is completed, program will return to the MAIN MENU 
automatically.

Restore
=======
From the MAIN MENU, go to UTILITY, and choose RESTORE. Insert previously
backup disk in disk drive. Enter the drive letter, click "Begin" or press
F9. A safety warning will appear. Click "Yes" or press "Y" to proceed. 
Follow on screen instructions. When restore is completed, program will 
return to the MAIN MENU automatically.
