BATTLOG Version 2.2  Release Note

* Battlog v1.4 data file (c:\battlog.log) is not compatible,
  please delete battlog.log first.
* Before you replace BATTLOG.COM, make sure that previous battlog.com
  TSR is terminated from memory.
* New BATTLOG.COM can be terminate by entering BATTLOG -R in
  DOS prompt.
* If battlog.exm doesn't work well, delete c:\_dat\battlog.env
  and try again.
* New feature - text graph available (CUT key, then PASTE to MEMO).
* New measuring method - faster and low-load for HPLX (memory peeking
  method).
* New feature - RS232C force power off command (in Option Menu).
* Added some info (F10), e.g.Battery run=5.0Hr (47) 44 days means
  (47)=On/Off approximately counter, 44=days period between
  first measure and last measure.
* Added some info (F10), e.g. Charged mAh. IR usage %, etc.
* Added some indicators at the bottom left of the screen such as N+.
  "N" means NiCd, "+" means charge-enabled. "A" means Alkaline.
  This indicator display logged data status (not real-now).
* Date display format according to the system setting date format.
* You can memo last backup battery replacement date. (Press M).
* Sometimes a AboutDialog will appear if your copy is not registered.

=================
What is BATTLOG ?
=================
BATTLOG is battery voltage data-logger. Once you install BATTLOG on your
favorite HP100/200LX palmtop, you can monitor your battery voltage every 5
minutes, so you can easily view the battery-life and the replace/charge
timing. A VOLTAGE GRAPH will give you the characteristics of the battery
type you use (Alkaline/Lithium/NiCd/NiMH).

Battlog consists of two programs- BATTLOG.COM and BATTLOG.EXM. You only need
these 2 files installed in order to monitor your batteries.

================================
With BATTLOG you can monitor ...
================================
- MAX/MIN/AVE VOLTAGE OF
  - Main battery
  - BackUp battery

- TIME YOU HAVE USED
  - RS232C Wired serial port
  - IR port
  - and Card Modem (COM2)

- AND MORE
  - Fast/Trickle charging time, mAh
  - Battery voltage graph
  - When COM port you used
  - How long you used COM port
  - Biggest voltage drop(How,When)
  - e.t.c.

============================
BATTLOG.COM and BATTLOG.EXM
============================
BATTLOG.COM is a TSR program which measures voltage and writes the
data to C:\BATTLOG.LOG (fixed) every 5 minutes. BATTLOG.LOG file contains
main and bkup max/min/average voltage data. BATTLOG.COM will measure
voltage every 20 seconds and calculate an average voltage. If HP200LX
is running with AC-adapter connected and is not charging any batteries,
BATTLOG.COM will not log any data.

BATTLOG.EXM is a viewer. It reads the C:\BATTLOG.LOG file and displays
an easy to read GRAPH on your HP100/200LX display.

======================
HOW TO INSTALL BATTLOG
======================
It's easy to install Battlog on your HP200LX. There are two files:

BATTLOG.COM
BATTLOG.EXM

 - Copy BATTLOG.COM on your tool directory (i.e. c:\tool or c:\_dat).
 - Before you execute SysMgr (100 or 200) in MS-DOS prompt, type
   BATTLOG [Enter] (To remove BATTLOG from the memory, type BATTLOG -R
   and hit [Enter]).

After above operation, BATTLOG.COM starts working and C:\BATTLOG.LOG will
be created automatically. Every 5 minutes, voltage data will be appended to
the file.

 - Then copy BATTLOG.EXM to your C:\_DAT directory.
 - Start the SysMgr and add BATTLOG.EXM your menu.

Recommendation:
* Copy both files to C:\_DAT directory.
* "More Application" Key Assignment to Ctrl+F10
* Add BATTLOG to your AUTOEXEC.BAT just before the 100 or 200 command.

Now, it's ready to use !

BATTLOG.COM command line options:
  /R  =  Remove BattLog.
  /?  =  Help screen.

=======================
HOW TO USE BATTLOG.EXM
=======================
Start BATTLOG.EXM and you will be able to see the current status in a
graph.

At the right side of the screen you can see a black "Bar" which displays
the current main battery voltage.

At the lower right corner, you can see current power source:

 "B" ...Battery running
 "A" ...AC Adapter running
 "F" ...Fast Charging (100mAh)
 "C" ...Charging(45mAh)

At the bottom of the graph, some horizontal lines will appear and these
lines mean:

  - Charge (thick line=Fast Charging, thin line=Charging)
  - RS232C(pen width 1=IR, 2=Wired RS232C, 3=COM2)

To scroll the graph:

Right and Left Arrow key, HOME, END key.

=======
Tips...
=======
This is an example how to use this program:

  -Checking BATTLOG graph sometimes and then you get to know the
   characteristics of the batteries you use.
  -When the palmtop gives you a "Battery Low!" warning, before you
   replace the batteries, you can select [File][Save As...] menu, and
   save file as "AP9604.LOG" for example. It means "Alkaline, Panasonic
   brand, April 1996". Then Power off the palmtop and replace the
   batteries. After replacement, select BATTLOG [File][Reset Logfile]
   to start a new log and graph.
