>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> THE KING JAMES VERSION OF THE BIBLE <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> FORMATTED FOR THE HP200LX DATABASE. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Here are all of the Bible books. They are in the database (GDB) format for
the HP200LX. These files should also be readable by the HP100LX. However,
these files have not been tried on the HP100LX.

I share these with you so that you too may enjoy the word of God on your
HP200LX palmtop computer. Please share these books of the Bible and enjoy.

I created these 66 "books" of the Bible for my enjoyment and reading
pleasure while my wife was in the hospital. Her recovery from her illness
was slow and I was able to keep myself entertained by working at the
making of these "books".

Please Enjoy, and May God Bless You.

**** HOW TO USE: ****

0. Make sure you have enough disk space on your palmtop. All of these
files require approximately 8.5 megabytes of disk space. It will trim
down to 6.2 megabytes when the KJV_GDB.ZIP file is archived or deleted.

1. Create a directory on your palmtop, e.g., type: MKDIR BIBLE <Enter>.

2. Place the KJV_GDB.ZIP file into the new directory and unzip it by typing:
PKUNZIP KJV_GDB <Enter>. The files will be automatically uncompressed.
Note: The KJV_GDB.ZIP file may be archived or deleted to save space.

3. Use the database program and open any book of the bible. Each verse may
be viewed in the index card. Many verses are obviously too large to be
completely read in the index card format. For those verses, press the
F3 [NOTE] function key to read the entire verse.

4. The file 00_INDEX.GDB lists all of the books of the bible. It also has an
additional field which shows the abbreviations for the names of the books
of the Bible as used in the HISWORD program; created by Tom Hoover.
(After doing this conversion of the KJV Bible to the HP200LX database
format, I have a greater appreciation of the work that went into the
   creation of the HISWORD program.)

**** General Description of How these Books were created.

The source of these files originated from the King James Version of the
Bible located on the Project Gutenberg FTP site. I "massaged" the format and
created a file which had each verse on one line with only one CR/LF.

I then created a separate index with an extra field to allow me to maintain
a one-to-one match with the "massaged" Bible. I then "zippered" the index and
the Bible file together.

I created a master GDB file which had the format I liked and used that for
all of the books. I extracted each book into it's own file and used the
GDBLOAD program to create each individual GDB database file containing each
book of the Bible.

Not all of these steps were performed on the palmtop. I had to use my home
PC because of the shear size of all the temporary and intermediate files.
