This README.TXT file is formatted for 60 columns so it can
easily be viewed on the HP 100/200LX screen with the
Filer's View function.

The file HPLIB_AI.GDB (HP LIBraries with All Information)
in this archive is a data base file for use with the built
in data base application (Ctrl-Phone) on the
Hewlett-Packard 100/200LX Palmtop PC and the HP
Connectivity Pack. It contains information about all of
the files in the public libraries of the HPHAND forum.

Because this data base includes the full decriptions in a
notes field, the file is quite large and may be slow in
processing. There is a sister file to this one
(HPLIB_ND.ZIP) that has all the same data, but not the
description in a notes field.

There is a DataCard SmartClip for use with the 200LX
DataCard View enabled. As long as the HPLIB_AI.ICN file is
in the same directory and has the same name as the data
base file, the 200LX (and the 200 CPACK) will put a special
icon on the DataCard View when this GDB is opened.

I have included a few Subset definitions for several
related groups of library sections such as General, 95LX,
100/200LX, etc. I have also defined a few SmartClip
formats for various purposes. I used some of these
SmartClips to create the library file listings I have also
uploaded (HPLIB_1.LST, HPLIB_2.LST, and HPLIB_AI.LST). To
see exactly how the SmartClips look, you can select a few
records in the data base, execute a SmartClip, then go to
Memo and Paste it. They all require almost 80 columns, so
it would be best to set the appropriate right margin and
zoom size.

The records in the GDB are sorted by File Name so that you
can use the SpeedLocate to quickly jump to any record when
you know the beginning letters of the file name.

Of course, by the time you get this file, it will be old,
but there is not much I can do, short of posting a new file
every day. This library file data base can be used as a
reference for the files in the libraries (as of this scan).
As the Sysop posts messages of new merges, you can enter
the information into this data base to keep it current.

If there are any sections of the libraries that you are not
interested in, those records can be easily deleted.
