X-Finder R.11 Beta 6 and XFS R.7 Beta 1
-- XF & XFS now support IR connection --

[1] Introduction

This beta release is not in a full package. Environmental file
and other necessary files are not included. Please use those
bundled with X-Finder R.10.

[2] Changes from X-Finder R.11 Beta 5

This version does not reflect most of the comments and wishes
expressed in the feedback from the users of Beta 5. This version
is released solely because the support of IR communication is
materialized.

I tested this version with the combination of a double-speed
HPLX and FUJITSU BIBLO/NC. I would like to hear the results of
tests under other combinations.

- Carriage Return insertion during copy to clipboard
Copying to clipboard within the built-in text viewer inserted
an extra Carriage Return character. This was fixed.

- Incorrect scrolling when copied to clipboard
Copying to clipboard within the built-in text viewer confused
a screen scroll. This bug was removed.

- Scrolling after line end
Enabled a scrolling after the line end within the built-in
text viewer, for better use of copying a line to clipboard.

[3] How to use infra red (IR) connection

1. Server side procedure
Run XFS (bundled in this package) on a PC used as a server.
Press {Esc} to activate a menu and press {I} to switch to
IR mode. Press {Esc}{L} for connecting with 38400 bps. If
you would like to use a 36 MHz HPLX as a server, then press
{Esc}{S} to switch to "38400 bps (36 MHz)".

Set IR port to the communication port. For example, if COM2
is a IR port, then press {Esc}{2}.

You can run XFS within the DOS process of Windows 95.
However Windows 98 does not support IR port within its DOS
process. If you know how to overcome this limitation,
   please let me know.

If you run XFS on a HPLX (used as a server), first switch its
COM port to IR, by running "SERCTR /I" or by other utilities,
   ant then run XFS.

If you run XFS within DOS process of System Manager, you need to
   lock the task switching.

2. HPLX side procedure

Switch to IR mode by {Menu}{R}{I}, set the communication
speed and make an access to a remote drive. If the link is
successfully established, an hourglass will be rotated and
the contents of the remote disk drive will be displayed.

Modify the RS-232C setting (see below) of finder.env, if you
like to launch X-Finder with IR mode.

#RS-232C settings
%x	300
#	||+-RS-232C rate   0:115200bps  1:38400bps  2:38400bps(32 MHz)
#	|+--Halfrate 0:Off 1:On
#	+---Transfer mode 0:Wide 1:Narrow 2:X1 3:Infrared

Transfer speed is approximately 1100 bytes/sec with 115200 bps, or
   750 bytes/sec with 38400 bps.
