Who should use CCMFIX.SYS?

The file CCMFIX.SYS is a driver designed to add a buffer area
to the HP 100LX with ROM versions 1.05 and earlier. This
buffer area is needed to prevent memory conflicts when
receiving cc:Mail messages which have files attached. If you
are a cc:Mail user and expect to receive attachments to your
messages, you should use this software.

How to install CCMFIX.SYS:

1. Copy CCMFIX.SYS to C:\ on the 100LX.

2. Create CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files on drive C:\.
Note: You can copy the standard files CONFIG.SYS and
AUTOEXEC.BAT from D:\ to C:\.

3. Edit C:\CONFIG.SYS to add this new FIRST line:

       DEVICE=C:\CCMFIX.SYS    -1400

Note: It is important that CCMFIX be the FIRST device driver
loaded. The parameter following the dash is a hex number that
will be returned to DOS as the segment available for loading
the next driver.

4. Reboot so that the new CONFIG.SYS is processed.

CCMFIX.SYS will print two lines at initialization.

    CCMFIX: Driver loaded at 02CB:0000.
CCMFIX: Next load address is 1400:0000.
