ABCUTIL 1.0

ABCUTIL is a simple command line utility that works hand in
hand with ABC/LX. You can use it to set parameters from a
batch file or from an alarm in the appointment book, for
example.

Run ABCUTIL without any arguments to display the complete
list of commands that it understands.

Note that when setting any of the ABCTSR parameters, they are
not set permanently. During a reboot they are lost, unless
ABC.EXE is run before rebooting.

A few examples:

Assuming you always use rechargable batteries, the Setup
should always reflect it. Including the line:

 ABCUTIL REC

in the AUTOEXEC.BAT immediately after the line that runs
ABCTSR.COM accomplishes this.

To keep track of the discharging of your batteries, run the
command:

 ABCUTIL log >> C:\ABC.LOG

on a regular basis (e.g. from the appointment book). This
adds a line with the current date, time and voltage to the
file C:\ABC.LOG. To add the line in a comma delimited format
(for importing into 123), use "CDF" instead of "LOG".

To temporarily turn off the "help" key label overlay that
displays the voltage or timer, enter:

 ABCUTIL OFF

in DOS. To turn it on again, enter:

 ABCUTIL ON

in DOS.

To force NO charging during the day, add an appointment that
launches "ABCUTIL VSTART=2.30" at 9 am and another that
launches "ABCUTIL VSTART=2.50" at 5 pm. (The first command
lowers the charge to start when the voltage reaches 2.30v and
the second command forces the charging to begin at the chosen
voltage level.) Make sure your batteries are in good
condition.
