SWLX - ILGRadio to .GDB Bridging Package

ILGRadio http://www.ilgradio.com currently provides data to
Shortwave listeners for non-commercial use. At the time of this
writing, there is no charge for this service.

To use this data effectively on the HP Palmtops, a bridge is
required to get the data into the HPLX Database format.

SWLX serves this need.

Use of SWLX is permitted for non-commercial use without charge.

Warning
=======

ILGRadio has been known to get a little huffy when it comes
to third-party distribution of their data, so don't do it.

Please use this software distribution only as a means to get
ILGRadio LINUX "Language" files into a convenient format
on your HP100LX, HP200LX or HP700LX palmtop, for your personal use.

Under no circumstances should you distribute the data to others.

Please note that the use of this software distribution is not
endorsed by nor in any way associated with ILGRadio.

This software distribution does not contain the ILGRadio
Data Base in any form. It is up to you to obtain the data
from ILGRadio (distributed at no charge at the time of this writing)
as documented in the instructions below.

This software distribution acts only as a bridge to convert ILGRadio
LINUX database files to a format suitable for GDBLOAD. GDBLOAD is
then used to load the data into an empty .GDB database for your
personal use.

Persons using this software are assumed to be authorized by ILGRadio
to possess the ILGRadio LINUX Language files.

Instructions for using SWLX.

1. Access the ILGRadio Web Site at http://www.ilgradio.com
and obtain a Userid/Password for downloading the
ILGRadio Language Files. This can take up to 2 weeks
    so perform this step first.

2. Unpack this software distribution (SWLX.ZIP)
onto a new directory on your hard drive.
    Suggested directory is C:\SWLX\

3. Go to the S.U.P.E.R. Site http://www.palmtop.net/super.html
and download the GDBLOAD program. Unzip GDBLOAD into your
    c:\SWLX\ directory.

4. When you have your ILGRadio Userid/Password,
download the LINUX-formatted ILGRadio Language File
(ILGSTLAN.ZIP) into your C:\SWLX\ directory and unzip it.
Be sure you are downloading the "Language" files.
The complete ILGRadio database is too large for GDBLOAD to manage.

5. Run CONVERT.BAT to produce SWLXTMP.GDB.
The English-Language input file is called ILGSTENG.TXT and
is selected by default. If you wish to convert one of the
other available Language files, you can specify it when
    you run CONVERT.BAT.

6. Use the HP Connectivity Pack or your HPLX palmtop to open
    SWLXTMP.GDB in the Database Application.

7. You will receive a message indicating "No Records Found".
This is normal. Just press Enter to clear the message.

8. Press F6 and select any Subset, then press enter.

9. SWLXTMP.GDB is now ready for use.

10. You should rename SWLXTMP.GDB so that it will not be overwritten
    if you run CONVERT.BAT again.

11. Enjoy your new .GDB database, but do not give copies to others.
