                  Grand Prix/World Circuit GPCWinset
                  ==================================

Thanks to Dave "Gizmo" Gymer for writing GPCSetup.exe in the first place
and also to Trevor Kellaway for writing GPBHP.exe.

To run GPWinSet successfully, you will need Dave's GPCSetup.exe V0.3 and
Trevor Kellaway's GPBHP.exe which are both bundled in this zip file.

It is recommended that you back up the 16 track files F1CT**.DAT before you
use this program. I will not be responsible for any lost or damaged files,
and I will also not be responsible for global warming, late trains or your
washing up.

Background
----------
GPCSetup for Windows is a program that will allow you to change the setup
of the computer cars in F1GP.

You can change 1) Front Wing
		2) Rear Wing
		3) Brake Balance
		4) Gear Ratios
		5) Qualifying Aggression
		6) Race Aggression
		7) CC Grip

(Apparently, the game will automatically set the Front Wing value to that
of the Rear Wing, so changing the Front Wing will probably not have any
effect on CC lap times.)

Brake balance appears to have a relatively small effect but the major
changes come from the Rear Wing, Gear Ratio and Aggressiveness settings.

As the aggression factor is increased, the computer cars will tend to be
very fast into the corners by braking a lot later. They will be very
twitchy through the corners as the back end slides out. This will slow
them down slightly as they come out of the corner, but the net effect is a
significant decrease in lap times. An increase of between 10 and 20 from
the default appears to be the optimum as values above this will cause the
cars to slide massively and CC lap times will increase again. Increasing
the CC grip will also help with this.

It is worth considering using another editor to increase CC horsepower so
they accelerate out of the corners faster.

The Program
-----------
This zip file should be unzipped to your F1GP directory that contains the
16 track files, F1CT**.DAT.

When you run 'GPWINSET.EXE', the file 'GPCSETUP.INI' will automatically be
created in the directory 'c:\windows', even if this directory does not
already exist. This file stores the CC car setups.

The first time you run the program you will be prompted to find your F1GP
game directory that contains the F1CT**.DAT files. Once you have double
clicked on the correct directory the CC setup sliders will be enabled.

You can choose any track from the drop-down list, and once chosen the
default CC setups for this cicuit will be displayed.

Once you've changed the CC setup and you want to implement the changes you
have three options.

	1) Save CC setup for this cicuit without modifying setup files
	2) Change CC setups for THIS circuit
	3) Change CC setups for ALL circuits

Option 1 will simply modify the GPCSetup.INI file.

Option 2 CHANGES the CC setups for one circuit at a time and modifies the
	 GPCSetup.INI file.

Option 3 CHANGES the CC setups for all circuits would generally be used
	 after modifying several track setups.

NOTE. Unless you use option 1 to modify the INI file after changes to each
circuit, the changes will be lost when you choose a different circuit.

It is best to wait for the MS-DOS box to disappear before making any further
changes.

You can also choose to restore the original game default CC setups through
the File menu, but don't forget to implement them with one of the buttons.
