But does that game really work with Aria? I was having LOTS of dropped
sound effects, quite a few crashes, and sometimes loud shrieking noises
as if the card was interpreting audio data as I/O commands and viceversa,
until I finally quit on it.

This did not happen to my SonicSound while it played as a SB under T7G
(even without SB199).

Try this: right at the starting point of the house, you are facing the
stairs to the second floor. Go up those stairs and click on that painting
in front of you that will show the silhouettes of hands trying to break
through the wall. When this effect-passage finishes, turn right. I have
found that at this point the game will lock 80% of the time when you use
the Aria AIL drivers.
