Subject: Aria LISTENER Alt.?
X-Mailer: <Windows Eudora Version 1.4.2b16>

Could anyone advise if they have, or know of, a Windows based alternate to
the Ver. 1.65 Aria LISTENER software that ships with the Prometheus 16se?

I am having a devil of a time getting it to work reliably in a voice
monitoring application for my Mom who is paralysed. It needs to operate
unattended. I've developed work-arounds to the "button pushing" problem I
described in my earlier post, but now I get a far more serious problem with
a GPF - "Application Error - LISTENER caused a GPF in Module KRNL386.EXE at
0001.8EEF". This happens anywhere from 10min to an hour after starting up.
No answers so far from Prometheus, though they are looking at it.

Failing an "off the shelf" alternate, can anyone advise and educate me on
the following:

1. Is the Prometheus LISTENER something from Prometheus - or is it a variant
based on the SSDK and LSDK mentioned in Aria FAQ 1.05?

2. For those familiar with the LSDK and Prometheus' Windows LISTENER, how
would you estimate the difficulty of providing similar functionality using
the SSDK and LSDK tools? Particularly for a "novice programmer" - which is
probably me. Will I also need to buy MS Visual Basic or?

3. Are there any other/additional tools I might use?

Help greatly appreciated...
Thanks
Chris
