Yes, it is possible to get better MIDI-sound with a Aria-card.
You will have to use the MIDI-Out port (MPU-401 compatible) and hook a up an
external Synth. The Midi-sound will be great.

As said before the Wavetables are stored in ROM so they can NOT be changed.
The wavesample bankes are used in a synth with some sampling capabilities.
The bank files for the aria-cards are Patch-bankfiles. ==> instruments are
remapped to other instruments.
However I think it should be possible (using pitch-shifting) to use the PC
memory for storing the samples and use the DSP and the digital sound
capabilities of the aria card to built a sampler of the aria card. (with a
486 + DSP you should have enough processing power to do that)

Did the Apple have a midi-in/out connector ?? Then you could connect it to
your PC with aria card and use both.

Don't know that program, is it a sequencer or a sampler or maybe both ?? (or
is it something totally different?)
