MMS-10 AMPLIFIED STEREO SPEAKER SYSTEM

A Speaker System Designed For Your Computer

Imagine a stereo speaker system that allows full, rich sound to
be played from your computer, and fits easily between the monitor
and the CPU for maximum space utilization. Imagine having a
system with the ability to mix sounds from different inputs as
easily as turning a knob. Stop imagining -- it's here today at
Radio Shack!

This Speaker System Measures Up

The new MMS-10 Amplified Stereo Speaker System (25-1096) is
designed to be used with a computer. It is a one-piece unit, 3"
high and 11" wide, that fits between the monitor and the CPU of
your computer system. The MMS-10 is magnetically shielded to
prevent damage to your monitor, and its 11" depth allows a
monitor (50-pound maximum) to sit securely on top, even when
using a monitor pedestal.

The most direct competition to this product is the Roland CS-10.
The CS-10 uses an external AC adapter and is not as deep as the
MMS-10. This causes some monitors to hang off the back of the
CS-10 -- a precarious position for an expensive peripheral.

You can buy other amplified speakers for your computer, but if
they are not magnetically shielded, you risk damaging the
monitor. Those speakers will also take up valuable desk space
and will fire sound around you, not directly at you.

Speaker Power

The MMS-10 comes with three speakers. There are two forward-
firing tweeters found up front, and an omnidirectional 5" woofer
on the bottom that delivers an additional "oomph" to your sounds.
There are also speaker terminals on the back that let you hook up
external speakers, such as Minimus 7s. (The CS-10 does not have
external speaker jacks.) The MMS-10 delivers over 10 watts of
sound through an internal 110V AC transformer -- there's no
awkward external AC adapter to take up extra space.

Speaker Controls

The MMS-10s controlling features are found up front. These
rotary knobs adjust volume, tone, balance and mixer control.
There is also a push button on-off switch with indicator and a
headphone jack. The mixer control allows you to "mix" the two
inputs allowed to the speaker system. Adjust it once, and then
use the master volume control to vary the sound level. There are
two stereo line-inputs (A and B), stereo speaker terminals and a
speaker selector switch with three settings -- internal,
external, and both -- found on the back of the MMS-10. To set
the input, follow these settings:

     Setting Internal Speaker External Speaker

     Internal On Off
     Both Woofer On On
     External Off On

The MMS-10 is another great product from Radio Shack.
