TANDY DIRECT MARKETING OFFERS CUSTOM DESIGNED MULTIMEDIA STATIONS

TDM Brings It All Together

FORT WORTH, Texas (October 22, 1992) -- Tandy Direct Marketing
(TDM), a division of Tandy Corporation, now offers educators
complete, mobile Multimedia Design & Presentation Stations custom
designed to meet the special needs of any classroom.

TDM, in cooperation with leading multimedia hardware and software
vendors, is "bringing it all together" to streamline the use of
multimedia technology in the classroom. TDM's accessible,
self-contained stations include Tandy Multimedia Personal
Computers (MPC) and peripheral multimedia hardware and software
on handy, moveable desks. "With the new stations, multimedia
users avoid the confusing, often daunting, prospect of
collecting, connecting, and organizing a variety of multimedia
hardware," said Jim McGrody, vice president of Education
Marketing. "Once a station is set up -- it can be moved
anywhere, plugged in, and it's ready to go. It's just that
simple."

Basically, there are three ways to use multimedia technology in
an educational setting.

Delivery: MPC delivery systems are configured for individual
instruction in the classroom. This system includes the new 25 MHz
486-based Tandy Sensation! Multimedia Personal Computer (MPC);
VGA monitor; videodisc player; VCR; amplified speakers;
microphone; headphone; and a variety of education, entertainment,
productivity, and reference software.

Presentation: MPC presentation systems are designed for teacher-
focused instruction and group presentations. This system may
include either the 25 MHz Tandy 4825 SX or the 50 MHz Tandy
4850 EP MPC; VGA monitor; videodisc player; LCD panel; overhead
projector; VCR; video projector; television; VGA to TV converter;
amplified speakers; microphone; Musical Instrument Digital
Interface (MIDI) keyboard; and education, edutainment,
productivity, reference, and presentation software. Development:
MPC development systems are ideal for creating multimedia
curriculum and multimedia reports. Fast, powerful 33 MHz Tandy
4833 LX/T and 66 MHz 4866 LX/T multimedia personal computers are
perfectly suited to this demanding work. Additional hardware
includes a VGA monitor; videodisc player; video camera; TV;
audio/video switcher and distribution amplifier; video capture
board; digital still camera; amplified speakers; microphone and
headphone; audio mixer; and MIDI keyboard. The system also
features development, sound, MIDI and music, animation, and
graphics tools as well as clip resources software.

Educators may also elect to build a system by upgrading existing
PCs with a Tandy Multimedia Upgrade Kit. Finally, each system is
integrated into a mobile, flexible, ergonomically designed Supro
desk from Synsor Corporation. With this compact platform,
multimedia tools are organized, easy to reach, and ready to roll
anywhere in the classroom or from one classroom to another.

"The bottom line is that Tandy's new multimedia stations make it
easier for teachers and students to use multimedia technology,"
said Bernard S. Appel, senior vice president of Tandy
Corporation. "That saves time and energy that can be devoted to
teaching and learning rather that setting up and tearing down."
Tandy MPCs are manufactured in Tandy's advanced computer
manufacturing facility in Fort Worth. Tandy Corporation is the
nation's largest retailer of personal computers and consumer
electronics. For more information on Tandy Multimedia Design &
