DESCRIPTION:

WEB-ED is a multi-function editor, primarily for HTML, DHTML, VBScript and CSS.
There are three separate editors that share the same window. There are various
functions for each language. There are also several built-in utilities including:

* Object Browser to research methods and properties of scriptable objects.
* Color Picker.
* Color Sampler to get the hex code of a single pixel in an image.
* Snippet Library to store code snippets or reference text.
* Find and Replace.
* Multi-file Replace.
* Quick reference windows for VBS constants and ASCII characters.
* Toggling, resizable browser window to view current HTML page.

   If you use WEB-ED for scripting:
 There are free VBScript samples and components available at the
 Joe'Software website.

INSTALLATION:
__________________________________________________________________

   Just double-click the installation .exe file.

Required files:
MSVBVM60.DLL -
  MSVBVM60.DLL is pre-installed on WinME/2000/XP. If you use an earlier
Windows version and and receive an error message that MSVBVM60.DLL is missing,
 you will need to install the "VB6 Runtime". It can be obtained from Microsoft at:

   http://support.microsoft.com/download/support/mslfiles/vbrun60.exe

  In the interest of compatibility and non-intrusiveness, installation avoids installing
system files. The only non-WEB-ED file in this package is TLBINF32.DLL, a non-
critical file used to read type libraries.
  WEB-ED also requires that IMAGEHLP.DLL be installed. IMAGEHLP.DLL is used
by the built-in object browser to find file properties of executables. There should
be an adequate version of this file pre-installed on all Windows versions from Win95 up.

Special Notes:

 * WinNT/2000/XP : You will need adequate permission to access the Registry.
In WinXP even an Administrator is not always assigned full permission bt default.

 * If you are currently using WEB-ED 4.1, and you want to save your auto-insert
settings, copy webedt.ini from the WEB-ED Editor program folder before installing
and then add it back later. If you have edited any other of the INI files they can
also be backed up.
 Earlier versions of WEB-ED should then be uninstalled before running the WEB-ED
4.5 installation.

COMPATIBILITY:
___________________________________________________________________

 WEB-ED 4.5 may be used on Win95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP

WEB-ED 4.5 uses the file TLBINF32.DLL in the ClassTrack utility. In most cases
this will not be a problem. However, if you have installed:

* Visual Basic 5 or
* a debugging utility made in Visual Basic 5

 You may have an earlier version of TLBINF32.DLL. Unfortunately, both versions
have the same name and WEB-ED installation will replace the older version. This
newer version may not work with the above programs. If this situation applies
to you it's recommended that you make a copy of your current version of
TLBINF32.DLL before installing WEB-ED. If necessary that copy can later be
re-installed.
________________________________

Installed files - The following non-program files will be installed if they are not
present on your system or if your currently installed version is older:

 TLBINF32.DLL v. 1.1.81.69 [System file needed for the Object Browser]

In addition, WEB-ED installs its own program files which are installed to the program
folder. These include WEBED.exe, help files and several INI files.
