*Hardware/Software Requirements *

GroceryIP will best operate with the following hardware/software:

1.  Pentium based PC or equivalent processor.  Processor should be at least 133 MHz.

2.  At least 32 Mb RAM

3.  SVGA monitor.  Resolution should be at least 800x600.  Recommend using 1024x768.

4.  Printer.  If using barcode printouts, we recommend using a laser printer.

5.  At least 10 Mb free space on hard drive.

6.  Use with Microsoft Windows 95/98,NT 4/SP4,XP,2000,ME.  

7.  You need Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or greater installed on your system.

<<<If you already have version 1.6 installed, use the Windows Add/Remove under the Control Panel to remove version 1.6>>>
1.  Insert GroceryIP disk #1 into your disk drive.
2.  From the Windows Start button, choose the "Run" selection and type "a:\setup.exe"
3.  The setup program will automatically install the software onto your harddrive.  You will have to insert the other disks when prompted.

1.  Double click on the setup.exe file.
3.  The setup program will automatically setup the software on your computer.

Note:  If you are upgrading from version 1.3, the setup program will ask whether to keep some old files or whether to overwrite.  Choose the overwrite so that the newest files can be uploaded.

GroceryIP is a shareware program and is free to evaluate for 30 days.  If you decide that the software is a useful tool you are required to register the software with Codesse Software and pay the registration fee of $34.95 USD.  If you decide that the software is not useful, you are required by Codesse software to terminate further use and  remove the software from your computer.

The registration form can be found in the file Register.txt or can be printed from the GIP.hlp help file.

The license information can be found in the license.txt file.

1.  Added custom user "Weights and Measures" capability.
2.  Modified Meal plan calendar to support multiple languages.

4.  Fixed merging units problem.  Previous versions did not consolidate alike units between two merged projects.  This problem has been fixed.
5.  Fixed problem with project export function.  Previous versions had a problem with exporting projects over 150 items in length.  This problem has been fixed and now allows exporting of 10,000 items.
6.  Fixed problem with automatic audit.  The previous versions automatic audit would not function during noon and midnight hours.  This problem has been fixed.

Comments:
1.  Added Software Lock: The software has now been programmed with a software lock to prevent use of the product after the 30 day trial has been completed. The software can only be unlocked when a user enters in a Codesse Software approved User ID.

2.  Added Standard Open/Save/Print dialog boxes: Reprogrammed GroceryIP to use the windows standard Open/Save/Print dialog boxes for better stability.

3.  Upgraded Recipe Notepad: The Recipe notepad in previous versions of GroceryIP were standard text only. This didnt allow for adding pictures or changing colors or fonts. The new version uses RTF (Rich Text Format) for authoring your recipes. The new system also does not save the recipes to the project file, but rather saves them to a project directory named recipes. These recipe files can be opened with any editor that can read a standard RTF file, such as Windows Word.

4.  Upgraded the Week Preview: Some users wanted the week preview to have the ability to be edited and added images. The week preview has been upgraded for this functionality. However, the week preview should be printed after editing because the changes are not saved.

5.  Upgraded Shopping List: Some users requested that the shopping list be easier to use and have more flexibility for formatting. The shopping list form was totally reprogrammed with right click funcationality, print preview, column sorting, column swapping, column selective viewing, save and loading of lists.

6.  Minor Issues with the Food Inventory Form: Some users complained that the tab order of the form was incorrect and was difficult to enter information. This problem has been corrected. There was also a problem with editing an existing item where the Accept button would not be enabled. This problem has been corr

7.  Meal Planning Speed Increased: Version 1.3 was slow when planning meals because everytime you changed days GroceryIP would do an audit and restock check. This was removed. The audit and restock check remain, but are not triggered by the day change.

1. File version anomaly. GroceryIP v1.2 was released with a file version anomaly that required the user to save their project under a different version number. This would sometimes cause a loss of information. This anomaly has been fixed.

2. Copy 1 Item anomaly. GroceryIP v1.2 food inventory screen would show an error when trying to copy a single item from one catagory to another catagory. This anomaly has been fixed.

3. Catagory Set Focus. GroceryIP v1.2 food inventory screen would not set the focus in the text box when a new catagory was selected. This did not cause any problems, but was time consuming to click on the text box for every new catagory. This has been fixed.

4. Shopping list Update anomaly: GroceryIP v1.2 shopping list screen would display deleted items from the inventory. This anomaly has been fixed.

*Getting Started*
************************************************

The fastest way to get up and running is to use the tutorial from startup.  This loads the sample17.gip project with predefined items and meals.  Just add your own stuff and save the file as something else.  The realtime tutorial should get you going fast.
