<Inventory>

  This is the area where you will enter
  your inventory items.  Each item will
  require a 'Category' and 'Location'
  entry.  Take a look at 'Locations'
  and 'Categories' before selecting 
  this item.

Locations

  We have included several locations
  with the program for your con-
  venience.  You may add/edit/delete
  any locations you feel necessary for
  your particular situation.

<Insurance>
Insurance

  This is an area to record your ins-
  urance policy information.

<Print>
Print

  This item will allow you to print
  either the 'Order Form' or the
  'Inventory Report'.  Use the up
  and down arrow keys to make your
  selection, then press enter.

<Exit>
Exit

  Use this selection to exit your
  Personal Property Inventory (PPI)
  program.

<Help>
Help

  This selection provides information
  on the general operation of the pro-
  gram.  In addition each screen will
  have 'screen level' help available
  when you depress the F1 function key.

  This is where you can view inv- 
  entory codes and descriptions with 
  your program, and access the inv- 
  entory data files.  Use the up/down
  arrow keys, pgup/pgdn keys or your
  mouse to scroll thru the items.

  To modify or delete an item, scroll
  up/down until the selector bar is
  indicating the correct item then
  select the desired function from the
  buttons at the right

  Select the 'Insert' button if you

  The 'Exit' button returns to the

Update Inventory

  This is where you actually enter
  your household goods.  You will be
  very surprised at how fast the add
  up if you include them all.  In the
  event of a fire, anything you have
  not included might well be con-
  sidered a throw away.

<Location>
Location

  You must enter a valid location code
  in this field.  If you don't a view
  screen will be displayed for you to
  pick from.

<Category>
Category

  You must enter a valid category code
  in this field.  If you don't a view
  screen will be displayed for you to
  pick from.

<Item Description>
Item Description

  Enter a clear description here.  If
  you are listing a family bible that
  is many generations old, don't just
  enter 'bible'.  Great, great, great
  grandfather's bible sounds better.

<Quantity>
Quantity

  This field is pretty self explanatory
  until your description says 'silver-
  ware.  Since you don't want to list
  each piece separately the description
  could say 'gold plated set of 12 w/
  serving'..quantity = 1,

<Manufacturer>
Manufacturer

  Many times the manufacturers name is
  a good indicator of value.  Enter the
  manufacturers name if you can, else
  'unknown' or n/a for not/applicable.

<Model>
Model

  Many of your item will not have a
  model number.  Appliances, TV's and
  stereos will.  Enter the model num-
  ber or n/a or just leave blank if
  there is not one.

<Serial Number>
Serial Number

  Like model number...if it doesn't 
  have one you can't enter one.

<Cost>
Cost

  Enter here what the item actually
  cost when you acquired it.  A gift
  might well be zero, but part of
  an inheritance probably had some
  value.

<Replacement Cost>
Replacement Cost

  This might well be the hardest field
  to provide an answer for.  A tele-
  vision set in perfect condition might
  only have a market value of $100 if
  you try to sell it...but try and re-
  place it ...$400??

<Actual Value>
Actual Value

  If replacement cost is tough this one
  has got to be number 2.  Best advise
  here is to be generous with your self
  and let the insurance company bid you
  down...the other way won't work.

<Date Acquired>
Date Acquired

  Enter the date you acquired the item
  in this field.

<Age>
Age

  This is the age of the item when you
  acquired it.  We will calculate the
  actual age on the reports by adding
  this number to the acquired date.

<Replaceable>
Replaceable

  Use the arrow keys to select 'yes'
  or 'no'.

<Source>
Source

  Where did you get this item, store
  name, person. etc.

<Documentation>
Documentation

  Use you mouse or the arrow keys to
  select the type of records you have
  for this item.  If you have more
  than one, select the one you feel
  provides the best argument for the
  price.

  Enter a location code in this field,
  duplicates are not allowed.

  'BYD' might be 'Back Yard', etc.

  phone.  The best number in an emer-
  gency is what you want here.

  Enter the policy type in this field,
  Homeowners, Fire, etc.

<Policy Number>

  Enter your policy number here...

<Amount>
Amount

  Enter the policy maximum amount here.
  Many policies only pay 'up to' a 
  stated amount, but will require an
  accurate inventory if you are to col-
  lect any money. Don't rely on your
  memory, that what PPI is for.

  This screen allows you to select
  between sorting by location or cat-
  egory.  In each case a report will
  be printed to match the parameters
  you have selected.

<Sort By>
Sort By

  Use the arrow keys or your mouse to
  select the sort method.  If you sel-
  ect 'Location' the report will print
  the range of locations you indicate
  and sub-total by category.  If you 
  select 'Category' it will print the
  range or categories you select and 
  sub-total by location.

<Start Location>
Start Location

  This entry is only active if you 
  choose to sort by 'Location'. Enter
  the first location you wish to print
  and press <tab>.

<End Location>
End Location

  This is the last location you wish to
  print on the report.

<Start Category>

  This entry is only active if you 
  choose to sort by 'Category'. Enter
  the first category you wish to print
  then press <tab>.

  This form allows you to fill out
  an order for additional copies of
  the PPI program at a reduced price.

  The name field is filled out auto-
  matically.  It is the name you en-
  tered when you installed the prog-
  ram.

  Please enter your street address
  in this field.  Two lines are
  allowed.  The programs will be
  mailed to this address.

<City>
City

  Enter your city in this field.

<State>
State

  Enter your state abbreviation here.

<Zipcode>
Zipcode

  Enter your zipcode/postal code in
  this field.

<Country>
Country

  Enter your country in this field.

<Additional Copies>
Additional Copies

  Enter the number of additional copies
  of PPI that you want to order.  The
  price per copy is shown.  After com-
  pleting this field, the order total
  will be calculated.

<Payment Method>
Payment Method

  Use the arrow keys or your mouse to
  indicated a method of payment.  If 
  you are paying by credit card, a
  signature line will be printed on the
  order form.  Please don't forget to
  sign the order.

<Card Number>
Card Number

  This field will only be active if you
  selected a credit card as the method
  of payment.  Please fill in your card
  number in the space provided.

<Expiration Date>
Expiration Date

  Please enter your credit card expir-
  ation date here.


